They should all be fairly easy to find, especially the first and last ones there but give me a shout if you need some links.

looking for alternative/indie rock bands that are easy to listen to, something good but not overly strange or abnormal (think kings of leon on aha shake heartbreak)

- captain awesome, trying to help his friend to open her mind to less mainstream music.

Three of my personal favourites to throw on late at night.
Listened to the song "The End of the Beginning."

No sleeping to that. xD

Try bands like Arctic Monkeys, My Morning Jacket, The Strokes etc.. I'm not really sure how non-mainstream you're for here by using KoL as an example, but if she listens to Top 40 shit like KoL she probably hasn't heard those.

Download the first album asap. It'll put you to sleep real quick. But then you'll realize it's pretty much the best thing ever.

well before their most recent album KOL were pretty much unheard of (where as now the entire world loves them and acts like their biggest fans).

I'm just looking for indie/alternative music that isn't as strange and WTF as stuff like flaming lips because that would just put her off entirely lol

Default what song do you recommend me?

I like inspiring, idealistic, revolutionary type of music. Kind of like Rage Against the Machine. Something that inspires me to do great things, (like in Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson), music about having a purpose and doing something for the world!

What do u suggest?
