I'm definitely not into this kind of music but I have a close friend that is, I'd recommend:

Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Silverstein
The Used
The Almost
Alexisonfire
Funeral For A Friend

He also really likes The Maine, which I'm not a fan of but maybe you'd be.they are a lot softer than the above bands I mentioned.

Anyone know any good harpsicord/goth-type music? Something you'd hear in a castle at midnight. Lol. seriously though.

You should have seen the Favorite Verses thread yesterday, someone posted like 15 one word replies then signed off before they even posted their spam.

Dark Sanctuary would be perfect.

Blood of the Dragon by Nox Arcana certainly fits your description, except for the harpsichord (and thank Oden for that)

WHAT a gig last night

was anyone else at Davy Knowles' London gig last night???
he is such an awesome guitarist....

if anyone can recommend a similar artist, I'd be grateful... need more blues rock over here in the UK. he's massive in America (sang with Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, supported The Who & Chickenfoot etc, think he even sang something at NASA control station to someone in outer space!!!!!!), but no one ever seems to know who I mean when I rave about him....

I need a new favorite band.

I'm music illiterate. I won't pretend to know alot.
Slowly, I'm starting to retain more knowledge, but mostly, I don't know band names, or song titles, and I'm horrible at music trivia. huzzah!
Currently, I love the Beatles. But people think I'm a poser when I say they are my favorite- since the beatles rockband came out and it's beatlemania all over again, everyone with a emoflip and longboard has the Beatles listed as their favorite band on fb- i'll worship them silently until the craze is over again. I'd like to expand my horizans.
I HAVE been in love with RBF for a few years now- And WILL always love them (I'm going to be Aaron for Halloween, stoked to dress up as a man. Sidebuuuuuurns!) however...
I was introduced to them by my exboyfriend, and they're kind of tainted for me.
There has to be more to ska than rbf. Their has to be more to music than the Beatles and Jimi hendrix (maybe).
Suggestions for bands I should look at?
I've always wanted to hear a good GIRL LEAD SINGER SKA BAND. But apparently, it's unheard of. (And although they are good, I don't consider zolof the rock and roll destroyer ska.) Suggestions for my new favorite band try outs?

Where do you people even find music? I only find things through suggestions and friends, I'm always at a loss as to where everyone finds all this amazing garageband indie new stuff.
Help for the music illiterate? my mind is for the molding.

help please, looking for songs similar to..

Okay forgive me for not being able to describe this very well. I'm looking for more classical music that simply makes me think of two words "epic" and "awesome" LOL

songs similar to Karl Jenkins - Palladio or Clint Mansells requiem for a dream. Or something similar to Hans Zimmers - drink up me hearties from Pirates of the caribbean.

something where if it was in a movie it would be at the part where the bomb is about to explode, the final battle is about to happen, the world is about to end . Come on you know the type of songs i mean lol. Something energetic.

I hope somebody can help me.
