Music Recommendations
So I just joined MusicBanter and from what I've read on here, it is a very educated music forum site. Which is exactly what I have been looking for :)
So for my first post I figured, I would list some of my favorite Artists/Bands and see what new bands and artists you all might recommend me to check out based on my favorites. Here it goes.. Jimi Hendrix -- (I never leave Jimi out of anything) Rory Gallagher -- (One of my all time favorite guitar players) Bob Marley -- (Reggae yes, great song writer yes) Stevie Ray Vaughan -- (Yes I love great guitar players) Bob Dylan -- (New favorite!) Neil Young -- (I love all his stuff electric and acoustic) Coheed & Cambria -- (Probably my favorite "newer" band) North Mississippi Allstars -- (relatively uknown, but super badass) The Rolling Stones -- (C'mon its the Stones!) The Black Crowes -- (Great, Great Band!) The Grateful Dead -- (I just love their dynamic) Jeff Healy -- (Have you seen him play? Because you should!) Ben Harper -- (Hard to pin point Ben but hes all around great) Led Zeppelin -- (Can't forget Zeppelin) Pink Floyd -- (Also a must include) Lynyrd Skynyrd -- (Can't forget the good ole south!) The Allman Brothers Band -- (Every guitarist they ever had is/was amazing!) Gov't Mule -- (Warren plays guitar with the allmans!) Derek Trucks Band -- (Derek also plays guitar with the allmans!) Well I gotta stop some where, let me know what you think! Thanks!! |

Humble Pie Small Faces T-Rex Leonard Cohen Townes Van Zandt Gene Clark Israel Vibration Delroy Washington Burning Spear Steel Pulse Judging by the names you posted you should dig them. If you want to know about which specific albums to get, feel free to PM me. Welcome to Music Banter as well. |
Awesome thanks!
I've been meaning to check out The Small Faces for a while now, as I Love the Faces! |
So I was reading through some more post through out the site, and I have realized there seems to be a strong sense of Elvis Costello = Great.
Personally I have never heard an Elvis Costello song ever, which some of you may find sad. And I apologize for that. But I am here to make amends. If you don't mind please refer me to the best albums and/or songs to start getting into Elvis Costello Thanks & Much Appreciated. |

I'd have a listen to Jon Allen, he's a similar sort of style (myspace.com/jonallenmusic) |

She sent me this link earlier, you can win tickets to see him and Jamie Cullum play at some Magic FM gig in Regents Park London or something, by putting your details in http ://eepurl.com/dkTs (remove space!) Think Conor Oberst has definately gone solo now. (Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band) |
Anyone have any thoughts on Ryan Adams?
I have heard stuff about him, but have yet to listen to him. Anyone think he is good? |

'answering bell' has always been my fave, but have to admit i'm not to up-to-date with what he's doing. La Cienega Just Smiled was probably his biggest hit, but maybe I'm wrong... |
