can anyone recommend me a good bands like dropkick murphys and flogging molly that mix rock and punk with celtic/irish music?

The Tossers, although they are quite reined-in musically and much more lyric-centric than those too. Still worth a shot though.

And then there's the obvious one, that being the Pogues.

if an alien came to earth from another planet where they didn't have music, what is the number one first thing you would have it listen to (assuming said alien came in peace)?
