For Yes, start with Fragile or Close to the Edge.
For Spoon, I like Telephono, A Series of Sneaks, and Girls Can Tell. I haven't heard the following two and the most recent was a step down from those three.

thanks for the suggestions. however I have both of those Yes albums, probably should have mentioned this previously. i have listenend to The Yes Album, Fragile, and Close To The Edge.

Well in that case, go for Tales from Topographic Oceans (digest one disc at a time), Relayer, and Drama.

I just discovered a 70s artist named Andy Pratt and really liked the songs I heard. I see he has a ton of albums, so I was wondering, can anyone here recommend which one I should start out with? I'll probably get them all eventually, but I can't afford to do that just now, so I thought I'd start with just one or two CDs. Thanks in advance!
