Some of my favourite ever albums over the years, I have recently realized, all fit into this theme:

Memorial Beach - a-ha
The Big Picture - Elton John
Human Being - Seal
Mezzanine - Massive Attack
Morning Star - Spear of Destiny
The Dark Ride - Helloween

Any suggestions made that could help me expand the above list would be greatly appreciated. I just love this sort of stuff.

Cheers.
Boduf Songs - (all the albums are gloomy)
Stone Birds - If I Fell Into Black Water EP

for more search Neofolk as a genre (that means dark folk)

Disco Volante is all I've got. Quite the strange album that.

The debut's probably your best bet as a starting point though. Self-titled I think (I don't actually have it myself so I can't be too sure).

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution who I'm pretty sure has some members from Streetlight Manifesto. I have their 2001 EP A Call To Arms uploaded and will send it to you.
