Seventeen Seconds and Faith. May as well work backwards and get Faith first, since you're more familiar with the stuff that came after it.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Default U2

I really like U2's music and I was wondering what you guys think of them.
And are there other bands similar to U2 which I could also try out?

Well for the first post of my career on MB i would like to say after reading alot of comments about Karnivool i tried them out and love em. At the same time, The Dear Hunter has been mentioned a few times as well. Any suggestions on songs by them? Any other bands in this genre would be awesome to learn about.

As far as U2.... i like em. dont love em, dont hate em. Their older stuff appeals to me more i guess. I realize for alot of people they are a huge band but they still have alot of growing to do on me. I feel like sometimes their songs build and build and build and then it never hits what my expectations are ready for. Some of their songs do but some dont.

That being said, there is alot of U2 that i have still yet to hear so my opinion could easily change!

I would like a band that has a universal sound, combines every genre of music, and has cheap shows.

I'll be paying by check, thanks.

Default Music Suggestions

I've gotten really sick of all the underground rap scene and feel like listening to something else, but the only other type of music I have any sort of knowledge about is mainstream rock. The only sort of indie bands I'm into is MGMT, VAST, and Muse (If any of those aren't cateorgorized as indie I apologize, thats just what I call them). Basically I'm looking for an intro to indie if you will. Any suggestions or help you can give me would be much appreciated.

Imagine you are making a mix, and you have Alice in Chains "Would?" and "Rooster" on it... what else would you include?
