i've tried Cocteau Twins, and they're tough to listen to. but Cranes were also hard at first, but now i really dig them, so i'll keep listening.

i've heard a bit of Lamb, but the others are new to me.

- Bob Marley (his classics)

- Neil Young ( a few)

- Simon and Garfunkel ( a few)

Any suggestions?

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I'm a 21-year-old girl, originally from Europe, but living in Chicago right now.

I don't have favourite artists in particular, I just like a lot of songs, and they all seem to be from different genres.
However, I've lately been listening to this one type of music, and I really like it. I dunno what genre it exactly is...but anyway...I'll post a few songs, and I'd really really appreciate if you could give me any recommendations on which artists would be similar, or which songs would be close to that.

I like:

- A good rhythm. Don't has to be "simple", but I don't like Tom Waits songs. They are like lots and lots of words said after each other, but there is no structure in the song.

- A deep, manly voice like Bob Dylan and Bruce Springfield.

- Good lyrics, with a political message (but that's not necessary). I appreciate it when the artist write/wrote his own songs.

- Don't overdo it. I dislike Queen because everything is so bombastic and they don't stopp yelling. A guitar, a good voice, superb lyrics and maybe a little band if that's necessary is good enough for me.

Any suggestions?
