You should listen to:
Cocteau Twins Lamb (early is more Trip hop-later is more chilled) This Mortal Coil Autumn's Grey Solace Baxter

excellent, thank you.
i've tried Cocteau Twins, and they're tough to listen to. but Cranes were also hard at first, but now i really dig them, so i'll keep listening. i've heard a bit of Lamb, but the others are new to me. ~ edit ~ Mortal Coil didn't grab me, but i picked up all of Autumn's Mortal Coil's albums, very good stuff! still looking into Baxter... Check out the Tallest Man on Earth. Very similar to Bob Dylan. |

Hi everyone! I'm new here. I'm a 21-year-old girl, originally from Europe, but living in Chicago right now.
I don't have favourite artists in particular, I just like a lot of songs, and they all seem to be from different genres. However, I've lately been listening to this one type of music, and I really like it. I dunno what genre it exactly is...but anyway...I'll post a few songs, and I'd really really appreciate if you could give me any recommendations on which artists would be similar, or which songs would be close to that. So...here goes Shivaree- New Casablanca Shivaree- Goodnight Moon Vanessa Paradis- St. Germain Vanessa Paradis- L'Incendie Vanessa Paradis- Pourtant The Cardigans- My Favourite Game These have a little different feel to me...a little more sad and depressive, but I still like the soft, feminine voice: Kate Bush- This Woman's Work Tori Amos- Bouncing Off Clouds Tori Amos- A Sorta Fairytale Sia- Breathe Me THANK YOU in advance!!!!! |

Here's the most obvious one, Bob's son Jakob: YouTube - Jakob Dylan - Valley of the low sun Kings of Convenience YouTube - Kings of Convenience-Surprise Ice Joseph Arthur YouTube - Honey and the Moon - Redemption's son album (Joseph Arthur) with Lyrics Jose Gonzalez YouTube - José González - Deadweight on Velveteen Wilco: they have some great rhythms lyrics YouTube - Wilco - War On War (Letterman) This one might be a stretch, but it definitely has a message: YouTube - Dave Matthews Band - Don't Drink The Water Last edited by Pianogirl75; 03-04-2009 at 02:15 PM. |
