Portico Quartet has some good hang drum stuff but has some pretty surface level jazz horns that you might find boring and lame. I don't think that this fits very cleanly into the groovy or chill end of things (unless you find meditative states to be chill), but if you haven't heard Tabla Tarang: Melody on Drums by Pandit Kamalesh Maitri & Trilok Gurtu, I'm pretty sure it'd be up your alley.

75 Dollar Bill are a good contender, although they are a bit too noisy sometimes. Portico Quartet actually do feature drums and electronic beats (and are mostly pretty lame overall). Tabla Tarang is not really what I was looking for, but it's a great album that I haven't known before, so thanks for that!

Thank you Epikouros, but three of those feature normal drumsets and one doesn't have any percussion instruments at all, so not at all what I was looking for.

i know these are not exactly what you are looking for, they have all this relaxing long jam style. Also the album Starlight Anarchy by Stone Rebel has this style. I think it is real challenge to find an album identical to Stories Of The Astral Lizard..!

Yeah, I'm surprised how hard it is to find something in the same vein. I listen to a lot of psychedelic jam music and haven't found anything else yet.
You'd think that trippy hippie stuff and some exotic percussion would go hand in hand.
