I can't stop listening to Clutch, are there any other funky blues metal groove bands that blend the psychedelia with the surreal to that level of intensity? I can find bits and pieces in plenty of other acts but none gel quite the same way.

I really enjoyed this, and I was wondering if there was any other music like it... It sounds like vocal jazz with a few outside influences (surf rock, bits of world music, etc).

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Try Grizzly Bear, Other Lives, The Divine Comedy and maybe even Broken Social Scene.

Does anybody know of any good free or avant-garde jazz musicians similar to the likes of Derek Bailey, Albert Ayler, and Peter Brotzmann?

This is a very general kind of question... what sort of band must this be?
If you want to follow this, I can recommend a very good site from which you can listen to live studio sessions from bands, many of which are new.

Looking for several new bands to listen to. I am very picky with what I listen to. I do not like Rap/Hip Hop, Disco, electronica or dance.

Some Of The Bands I like
Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Metallica, Bob Dylan, Iron Maiden, Guns and Roses, The Clash, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine. A lot of 90's rock/alt rock.

Can anyone suggest something to me?

Irish Band O Emperor my favourite new band of the last year.
There is a certain surreality to their music that draws me. Maybe it is some I can relate to, their sound feels very familiar to me. These guys grew up in the Irish countryside like me, I can almost hear my childhood in each note and lyric

It is an organic sound but also a dramatic one, when the band wants to write an epic and powerfully emotional, goosebumpy song, they can.

Another artist I have been enjoying recently is Mark Fry. Acid Folk at its best.
