I found them not to be a band you just listen to one album and be taken with it, it took me a while to really 'get them' but after time I just found myself drawn to them, Goo in particular but they have a lot of solid albums. I'd suggest giving it a few listens if you're looking to get into SY.

There's a band called Jet (Not the rubbish AC/DC tribute band from the 00's) who recorded an album in the mid 70s before they became the punk band The Radio Stars.

They're well worth a listen too.
