Some of those appealed to me, but far more bands appealed to me earlier in the decade.

Canada has Nickelback Okay, Rush and (only nominally exists now) Saga.

It's between the UK and the USA, in my opinion.

This is a case of quantity verses quality. If you look at the scottish band "Average White Band" (AWB). As a leading influence in the 70s funk era in the US. I honestly wouldnt suggest any country as actually having a superior quality/style. Quantity = US/UK.

I said US a long time ago, but right now I'd say Canada, easily. It's a classic case of quality over quantity.

Yeah you're right

When I think of Radiohead, Suede, Pulp, The Auteurs, PJ Harvey and Elastica I always thought to myself 'Damn, what happened to British music when just a few years earlier we were really knocking out quality music like Neds Atomic Dustbin, The Wonderstuff, Crazyhead, Kingmaker & The Farm'.

It all depends on what music you are listening too. For great indie music, which I like to listen to, would have to go to Canada due to my professed love for City And Colour. Conversely, I prefer melodic death metal from Sweden such as Amon Amarth or the metalcore and screamo genre from the United States.
