This thread is understandably kinda daft... music that rules comes from everywhere in the world I gotta say...

It's obviously Canada, majority of my music comes from Canada, followed closely by Australia (i am aussie). UK is a fair enough winner, no idea why the US is so high.

Most of my favourite artists are Brits, but I dont suppose it matters too much were music comes from. Hasn't most modern music got its roots in the blues anyway?

What's weird in this thread is that it confines you in the English talking countries when everything is so interlaced.

I can't imagine British Psychedelia without the Indian and middle-eastern influence on its music, the Sitare itself changed a lot. Or just the African influence on Jazz and Blues.

*It's like we are only judging half of the last century, forgetting everything that brought us there - If we were talking about the music in general, I would've easily said "India".

that's because almost all of them have to jump ship to make it big here. distribution channels exist worldwide for American and British music because their base markets are so large, not so much the other way around. you're going to see an Australian band appear in media outlets? you better have a sweet fucking top 40 hit from them at some point or another.

the system is so fucked right now that the big four are having trouble moving units of anything, domestic or no.

I suppose out of these countries I like America's music best... although if this thread didn't confine me to English-speaking nations I would say Norway or Finland

Let me know what you think of it
