I picked the United States, because of the pacific northwest and New York music scene, but Canada and Australia have some pretty awesome bands too.

and music wouldn't exist without Folk and classical blah blah blah. Just because we were highly influenced by stateside music doesn't automatically mean that American music is the default by which all other music should be judged. Britain is smaller than a few states in America but look how much has come out of this tiny isle and that always seems to be forgotten in these arguments.
