Favourite Tribute/Cover albums.
We have talked about tracks being covered, but what about tribute/cover album? There have been some good albums over the years. A couple of mine:
David Bowie-Pin Up's. Easy Star All Stars-Dub Side Of The Moon. Both give good interpretations of songs that are fairly well known. One of the worst? Dark Side Of The Moon-Trance Remix's. Most of the tracks are unrecognisable and barely qualify as Trance.

I have a 'Songs Of The Smiths' cover album that I could'nt find any links to, that is full of unknown bands giving solid renditions. Probably the most known is Clayhill's version of Please Please Please Let Me Get What You Want which is featured in the film This Is England.

"Another Damned Seattle Compilation"
It's all of the "grunge" bands doing covers of The Damned. I liked it very much. There was also an Alice Cooper cover album that was great, but I have no idea the name of it or the bands...I'll get the album cover when I come across it. |

Now Dub Side Of The Moon i absolutely adore. I like it more than Dark Side, which i'm sure would horrify many people. |

I love Tori Amos' Strange Little Girls. The songs are covers of songs written and originally performed by men, but reinterpreted by Amos from a female's point of view. Very similar to: Medusa, by Annie Lennox, which I haven't listening to in its entirety in a long time but is also quite good. |
