Sheffield was pretty big in the early 80s , loads of synthpop/ industrial/post punk bands like Cabaret Voltaire , Human League , Clock DVA , Heaven 17 , Artery , Comsat Angels.
Oh and Def Leppard & ABC And it is the home of Warp Records too. |
Still...I can't see how Sheffield put Manchester in third place.
|
I guess there are more Thomson Twins fans still around than we thought

:(
Edit: And don't forget the one armed drummers vote. |

I pretty much agree with everything you said. The only good Liverpool band was Echo. And you forgot one of the absolute best Manchester bands: Buzz****s! Thank the Sex Pistols for that famous Lesser Free Trade Hall show. :) |
Canterbury 4 lyfe. The amount of talented prog bands that came out of that city is amazing. Gong, Caravan, Soft Machine, Hatfield & The North, several others.
And since you're all raving about Mancester. Lets not forget that Van Der Graaf Generator came from there. :pimp: |

Edit: Gong are listed as being from Paris Boo Boo? |
Which ones?

Let's not forget Atomic Kitten.
Seriously though...take a good look at Civic Defecater's list; Quote:
Only 3 or 4 bands stand out. |
