Favorite music growing up?
I was just listening to random playlists I have and came across some songs that I grew up with... one for me was "Killer Bees" - Wu-Tang Clan.
So what was your favorite music to listen to growing up, you know, the songs that when you hear today bring back memories? |
I used to be addicted to P.O.D.
Well....I still am addicted to them, but I was more so back when. I liked Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Bloodhound Gang....And a bunch of random stuff. |
I was really into my parents rock n roll compilations, my mom's Beatles 1962-1967 album, my own Classical music cassettes, and my big brother's Twisted Sister as a kid. I think I turned out all right. Oh, and my sister had a "best of" the Beach Boys that I borrowed a lot too.

I was really into Buddy Holly and Fats Domino until i hit about 12 (c1969) and started discovering "rock and roll"
|
i liked anything with a good beat back then, im still the same now but im a little more picky when it comes down to it :)

when i was a kid,.....
it was all about jerry jeff walker and roger miller,....when i was a little girl, momma has a video of me standin on the kitchen counter at four singin chugalug when i started buyin my own cds, in jr high, i was really into seven mary three, bush, stp, soundgarden,....that kinda stuff,......that evolved to jam bands, and the typical texas singer songwritter stuff in high school,.......although bands like the allman brothers, the band, neil young have always been, and still are ever present,........ |

When i was really little i loved Bob Marley. Only because i had heard his greatest hits. I admit that i was a terrible music fan when very young. What ever played on the radio and that i LOVED.
|
I used to listen exclusively to Elton John and Disney soundtracks. That's why Bob Dylan and the Sex Pistols were like a godsend to me.
|
i cut my teeth on early bubblegum rap like dj jazzy jeff and the fresh prince, young mc along with random late 80s top 40 crap.
it's only after i joined music clubs (columbia house / BMG) in the early 90s i started branching out into the alt. rock of the day and classic rock. i'll also own up to having owned way more kim mitchell cassettes than i care to remember. |
