let's just check the original instead - YouTube - Black Magic Woman (live) - Fleetwood Mac.

Pffft.

Santana's version is better by a huge margin, never got all the hype for Peter Green. He is a great player, but he wasn't doing anything that other bluesmen like Clapton weren't already doing at the time. Santana took what in it's original form was just an average blues song and made something completely different out of it.

i was just going with the tune. i'd never actually heard the peter green version before today. so when it came up on youtube i decided to check it out. i chose that one instead.

besides, the gist of the song is still the same. santana's outro bit is even listed as a 2nd track (gypsy queen). plus santana's version is WAY overplayed. :p:

He pretty much made that song his own though, and his playing on it is amazing.

Abraxas is an incredible album overall.

Any list that doesn't have Inside Looking Out by Grand Funk Railroad is pretty lame IMHO. So the list fails.

Abraxas is easily his best album. Not only that but if you buy the original vinyl, the album art is breathtaking as are many of Santana's other works. I am not sure who does them, but spot on job.

Mati Klarwein... He's really amazing. He also did the cover for Bitches Brew.

Well it's rubbish, but then again these lists always are. Never mind.

Just because it's technically easy to play doesn't make it a bad song.

I am not saying it's a bad song. I rock to 7 nation army all the time.

But if my 10 year old brother, who is no guitar prodigy, can play number 21 on the greatest guitar songs their is something wrong with the list.

Now it doesn't have to be malsteem material, but I think the 100 greatest guitar songs should involve a little talent and expertise in them. And I find neither in this song

Complete bullshit list...but, honestly what were you expecting?
