Hooks and melodies are all over the place on MIM, and repetitive music ideas can be said to be throughout The Smiths' back-catalouge, fact is they're beautiful well written pop songs and thats why i adore it so much. The debut IS astonishing, and in many ways i hold it in just as high regard as the others, its just the production sucked a bit out of it so thats why it loses out in my battle for the favourites (have a listen of the Troy Tate Sessions, the first take on producing it if you like it). |
