Pavement - Range Life (smashing pumpkins, stone temple pilots)
Sonic Youth - Screaming Skull (Lemonheads,Husker Du) Sebadoh - Gimme Indie Rock (Husker Du, Sonic Youth, Velvet Undergound, Stooges, Pussy Galore) The Fall have done this a few times as well, don't specifically remember which songs though. There's also a Belle and Sebastian song that mentions the Velvet Underground, again can't remember which. It's on their first album I think. |

Jens Lekman rules.
"When she talked about about the fall / I thought she talked about Mark E. Smith / I never understood at all." "When people think of Sweden I think they have the wrong idea / Like Cliff Richards who thought it was just porn and gonorrhea / And Lou Reed said in the film "Blue in the face" / That compared to New York City / Sweden was a scary place. / They seem to have a point after meeting with this girl / Maybe not Cliff Richards but Lou has surely met her." I know several more, Hello Saferide, Mary Lou Lord, Tullycraft etc but I'm too lazy to look them all up. |
