You concern yourself far too much with what other people like.

That I do.

Its because I've gotten so annoyed by the arrogance of certain music fans (rhymes with smindie) that it has driven me mildly insane. And now I'm so paranoid that I think liking certain music actually affects a persons personality. Example, I think listening to Indie (or at least too much of it) will turn you into a pretentious, imperialistic douchebag. It makes more sense to think that the music you listen to reflects your personality and not the other way around, but I atually know people who used to be nice, then they start listening to Broken Social Scene and they turn into c*nts, its some kinda invasion of the body snatchers effect that this music has on people. So I don't just hate Indie, I'm kinda afraid of it too.

I bet you don't know what the f*ck I'm talking about. I'm a little inebriated at the moment.

Compare that to Led Zeppelin, who were excellent musicians, had a sound that was very fresh and different for rock music at the time and had a massive (if sometimes polarizing) impact on rock music since the early 70s. If we're trying to be "objective" here then we failed, this is all about preference, because I don't care how much you hate zep, there is no way in hell Black Flag are better than Led Zeppelin.

And then theres Johnny Cash, the mere suggestion that Black Flag are better is not only absurd, its insulting and completely insane.
lol.

Johnny Cash was influential, but it's not like what he did took a lot of effort. I mean even by country standards, you take a generic chord progression, have a guy rambling in a low-pitched voice about his amphetamine addiction or whatever else, throw in the most boring guitar solo humanly imaginable, more rambling. Wash, rinse, repeat.

You're not getting my point, i'm saying The Smiths had lots of songs in that sort of vein, not just Meat Is Murder. Considering earlier you said you liked the Smiths i just find it odd you attack him for that one song when it does it all the bleedin' time.

I don't really like Morissey as a lyricist, I just like their music. Thats just one song that really annoys me, not just lyrically, I think its a crap song overall.

Fair play. I like the song because its one of the few i can think of that actually terrifies me a bit, its a very powerful song.

I thought they didn't write their first 2-3 albums...
