Just because you hate Pumpkins songs or you think Billy Corgan is an egotistical jerk does not take away from their impact on 90's music Siamese Dream is an album that is not out of place being next to Nevermind in your record collection.

and really all you're showing me is your personal disdain for the band nothing you're saying is refuting my assertion regarding Smashing Pumpkins.

It's moronic to suggest that a typical 90s album like Siamese Dream belongs next to something like Odelay which is the farthest thing from typical. You've offered no argument here other than you think Siamese Dream is as impacting as Nevermind which is ridiculous. Perhaps before whining that I'm not doing enough refuting you should give me more to refute. |

And originality does not a better album make, I certainly don't see how The Pumpkins were unoriginal anyway, I can't think of anyone that sounded like them at the time. And Siamese Dream is so much better than Odelay its not even funny. |

Smashing Pumpkins would have been my next choice, because they are one of top 10 favorite bands of all time. You already obsess yourself with insulting everyone else on that list, I think I have the right to be defensive.

well you bloody should do anyway now the latter 2 are hardly as innovative and experimental as the Velvets but they are still marvellous albums that are held in just as high esteem and by a lot of people maybe even higher but they are 3 albums that are completely different just like Odelay, Siamese Dream and oh I dunno something like '69 Love Songs' innovation and originality is always revered but just because a band is able to make a tremendous record despite being (like you stated) like 200 other bands shouldn't mean they are regarded as an inferior artist. In fact it can sometimes say more for a band if they can clearly stand out from their contemporaries.
