Default songs without music?

Hi, wondering if anyone knows a source where the famous songs are sung but without music. I am specifically looking for Savage Garden's Truly Madly Deeply. So basically Savage Garden singing this song without music. Any ideas? Thanks

The type of music you are referring to is A Capella. I don't know any songs off the top of my head, but that could help you in terms of search engine stuff, since that's the official name.

so basically you want the reverse of a karaoke track? i don't think those actually exist. you can find applications on the net that claim they'll eliminate certain instruments from recordings but they don't usually provide good results since it's an elimination of sound frequencies rather than the removal of specific instrument or vocal tracks.

as far as i know the only way you'll get what you're asking for is in a studio prior to the final mixing process of the song. unless you get really lucky (like go buy a winning lottery ticket lucky) and happen to find demo versions on a file sharing program.

Try MTV's Unplugged series. That's a bit close to finding music that's not so heavily laden with instrumentation (it's not pure vocals a.k.a. A Capella but it's somewhat close).

Nice... I was just chatting with my wife in the car yesterday and a Savage Garden song came on, and I asked her who the target market was for this type of music, and how does a band like SG get together. I just can't conceptualize it?

Do, they hang out in one of the band members garage and say, we want to be a prom rock band?
