I'm going to vote tactically.
The Stones are out because none of you Beatle loving f*ckers appreciate them. Dead Kennedy's look certs to go through. I don't see the Minutemen getting more votes than DK. I can see all the little indie kids going for Hello Saferide and there are ****ing loads of them on the forum. So my vote is for JAMC to get them through with DK. Simple

This is just my opinion, but Psychocandy may very well be the most badly produced album I have ever heard.

That's just one album out of many.
What about Stoned & Dethroned which was virtually all acoustic and had Hope Sandoval on a couple of tracks or Darklands which was virtually goth rock.

Stoned & Dethroned is the fifth album by the Scottish alternative band The Jesus and Mary Chain. After spending most of 1992 touring, including a slot on that year's Lollapalooza tour, the Mary Chain went into the studio in January of 1993 with the notion of recording an acoustic album. For the first time since the Psychocandy album they recorded with an actual full band with Monti from Curve playing drums and touring bassist Ben Lurie. The recording took longer than planned, lasting the better part of a year. The album also features lead vocals from guests Shane MacGowan from The Pogues on "God Help Me" and Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval, duetting with Jim Reid on "Sometimes Always," which was the album's first single.

I don't think I've heard anything from Stoned and Dethroned. But I have heard some of their post Psychocandy singles, that I didn't care for either.
To me their music is just too gloomy and unmelodic. |
