i do agree about how amnesiac/kid a should have been combined though. looking through them i would remove: pulk/pull revolving doors one of the morning bells i forget which i prefer. hunting bears treefingers motion picture soundtrack the rest are arguable but those are shitty.

Whaaaat!??!
I wouldn't combine Kid A and Amnesiac. Both albums have really different tones when you think about it. I would however change lots of the tracks on Amnesiac. I think The Amazing Sounds of Orgy would make such a better opener. |

no, it's because i'm old enough to have already been listening to and picking through all the same groups that influenced Kid A before it came out and saw it for the attempt that it really was. the only really impressive thing about the album, is that it was a major mainstream release. but even at that point the mainstream was so horny to prove itself to be eclectic that it messed its pants at the idea of being able to support something as 'challenging' as Kid A for the mass of hipster plebs clamoring for something 'new'.

I quite like Treefingers actually, it has a lovely atmosphere and had it not been there I'd feel Kid A would be missing something, and I'm still impressed/boggled by how O'Brien and Godrich managed to produce those kinda sounds. Hunting Bears is underrated, it's a brief little guitar solo that doesn't overstay it's welcome, it kinda reminds me of the Ecco the Dolphin soundtrack. ![]() Pulk is the worst track of either album but it's fascinating still. |
