Exactly. Also, it depends upon what era/period of fans you are talking about. Obviously, indie kids of the 2000s generation are more likely to have been educated with regard to the albums that ultimately mattered most in critical circles - namely, OK Computer and Kid A; for those people, The Bends WILL turn out to be somewhat of a neglected, overlooked album. However, as for those who lived out their teens in the 1990s, they will almost invariably associate Radiohead primarily with The Bends and their big, early, anthemic arena-rock hits.

My two cents' worth: I think The Bends is a fairly mundane snoozefest of an alt-rock album with but a few cuts that are worth listening to more than once. It's not a great surprise that OK Computer is praised so much more.

i think its a fantastic record...but on the whole you're point is incredibly valid
the layers of interest on ok computer are infintiely more varied and worthwhile
take paranoid android...compared to high and dry

I still havent listened to all of Amnesiac, and I bought it like a month ago, it's just kinda boring.

Ah come on. If you can find some excitement in a Coldplay album, then Amnesiac should be a no brainer.

The Bends for me. Though OK Computer is pretty damn good, there are a couple of things about the album to stop it being their best, in my eyes (ears).

Plus, I just prefer the sound of The Bends overall.
