oh boy, the whole sixth grade "no one like you" response.

legit reasons are:

- lyrics are completely boring and uninventive
- musically okay, but not more than okay. Nothing groundbreaking
- TY has a horrible voice and can't even use it well
- most wretched fan base in existence (see posts)

I do not care about respect on a forum, dude. If you think someone should, then you truly overestimate your importance. And I have seriously overestimated the quality of posters on this forum, by thinking that anyone might be able to have their opinion challenged.

Hahaha uninventive lyrics? Lyrics are rarely inventive (as a Coldplay fan you should be aware of this) and um well I don't know what inventive lyrics are, lack of structure or having an odd rhyming scheme? Well Radiohead have actually done both so that's a pretty stupid point. I mean seriously how many bands give you lyrics that are just a monologue of rhyming words that are all related to one subject? You could call that stupid or boring or something but uninventive? Nah.

Really? What else sounds like OK Computer and beyond Radiohead? I can't think of anything. The Bends you could maybe find some artists doing that before hand but I still say it was a pretty singular release. Pablo Honey okay but no one really cares about that album. Also if you say Muse or Coldplay I'm just going to laugh at you.

Thom actually has excellent range as he displays on the Bends pretty well, particularly his falsetto. If you don't like it okay but you not liking something is different from it being 'horrible.' How doesn't he use his voice well? Please back up your statements.

That has nothing to do with their actual music, it's just you bringing up an irrelevant point and hoping it counts against them. Please provide some substance to your argument instead of just throwing out baseless thing with no reason or statements behind them you're just looking like more of an idiot.

Boards of Canada...Tons of stuff really.

Laughing Boy 06-09-2008 10:28 PM

Yeah who's side are you on? Besides putting electronic lyrical elements on an alternative rock album is still inventive and if you're saying Boards of Canada sounds like OK Computer, Kid A, etc than I'm going to question whether or not you've even heard Boards of Canada. Besides OK Computer came out a year before Music Has the Right to Children and no one's even heard their albums before that.

Not really, its been done before. People just don't like admitting that everything Radiohead does isn't the most original and inventive thing in the world, which isn't even a bad thing.

ProggyMan 06-09-2008 10:30 PM

I own Geogaddi and Music Has The Right. I'm not saying they're identical, but c'mon they sound very similar, besides the vocals.

Laughing Boy 06-09-2008 10:32 PM

They don't sound that similar and both those albums came out after OK Computer, hell Geogaddi came out after Amnesiac. So yeah please explain how they sound similar because I've never heard that one before.

Done before by who?

You must realize when someone sais done before they do not mean every piece of the album. Many of the elements used are evident in many different albums.

For example one of the latest ones that i have heard is Mogwai.

You didn't even say anything here.

Dr_Rez 06-09-2008 10:40 PM

I did, just read about Mogwai.

There debut album the Mogwai Team which came out in 97' has many elements hat Kid A on have, that were supposedly so inventive.
