In my opinion, their talent goes to an extent. They play their music and they are good at playing THEIR music. I'm not personally a fan but I do have a few mates who are fans, not die-hard...But fans none the less. I myself am not very interested in their first 3 albums...I think their newer stuff is a little better. Best album for me would be Amnesiac from around 2001 or 2002 or something. Alot of those songs I think are more indie influenced but none the less, still interesting songs. "Knives Out" being the best song from that album, the lyrics are interesting and still have a fair bit of meaning to me. "Look into my eyes. It's the only way you'll know I'm telling the truth". The music itself is something they could always improve on, as with every other musician in the world...But in conclusion, I wouldn't recommend anyone listen to them if in search for new and good music...They're good to listen to if you're a fan

Everybody around me loves them, it kind of put me off, so I never listened to them. /hype-hater xD

edit: Though I'm not always a hype hater, just sometimes.

This is the dumbest reason to not like a band. I completely ignore what people say whether it's good or bad and just like what I want to.

That's easier said then done. Your friend might mention a band you've never heard before and say something negative about them. Implicitly, that's going to effect your opinion. But I agree, that is a really stupid reason to hate band. Every genre, including pop, has some very talented musicians and bands. Generally, if a lot of people like something, I mean sincerely, honestly like something, then most likely that thing is gonna be at least decent, right?

Hype isn't a silly reason to hate a band at all , especially if you hear that bands worst song about 20 times a day being played everywhere.

I hated Franz Ferdinand for ages because of this.

Hold on. You're not making sense. It's not silly to hate a band because of hype and then when you find out they're ok to like them? That sounds pretty silly to me.

I`m saying I heard one song by them constantly and I hated it.

Why would I listen to more by them if I hated that song and I heard it so much?

Ok. Agreed.
Alo, said she never even gave radiohead a listen because of what her friends said. I disagree with that.

Perhaps it's better to be rephrased, it's silly to hate a band if you have only heard one song.
