for all intents and purposes, The Bends was the last of their rocking
wasn't at all impressed with the singles from Ok Computer and gave up on them for a while and only lulled back with the release of Hail to the Thief |

I think I might love Kid A (something I never would have ever thought would happen)... it's kind of growing on me. Sure, White Noise were making music similar to this in the late 60s, but that doesn't mean this isn't a brilliant pop album....
I only wished I liked OK Computer as much... The album art is interesting, though. It has a very ethereal and detached feel to it... |

The Bends is definitely great and maybe as good as albums like Kid A in its own right. I would definitely give it props as the most consistent Radiohead album, much like Kid A or TKOL (though the latter sort of cheats by the small amount of songs). Out of 12 songs, 12 are damn near great to great. HTTT is a great album, but not as consistent nor cohesive.

I love that track. It's so damn atmospheric and funky. Not to mention during the latter half of the song starts to adopt a Dixieland feel that then evolves into avant-garde jazz. It was actually this song that got me to revisit their music and give them a second chance (so fucking glad I did).
"Paranoid Android" also gets a special mention for it's peculiar lyrics and eclectic composition. Last edited by TockTockTock; 03-25-2012 at 04:31 PM. |

'Paranoid Android' was my first exposure to Radiohead. I can remember clearly when the single was released and the video got quite a lot of rotation on various music TV channels. I was too young to really 'get' the music but the video really fascinated me at the time.

I think I posted in here before with the typical "I don't understand why people like Radiohead" post. But this time around, i'm going to take into consideration the recommendation frequency that Kid A receives. So i'm going to download that and give it a listen. I'll give Ok Computer a go as well.
