Depends on what you like and what your standards are. The amazing thing about Radiohead is that each album brings something different. I'm partial to Pablo Honey because I think it's more raw than any of their albums.

Venturing out of conventional style is not selling out, it's called progression. And come on, the artic monkeys are ok but every song on "Whatever..." sounds the same, you won't get that with Radiohead.

No... no it doesn't. I'm an Arctic Monkeys fan so it's pointless trying to tell me that every song on their album sounds the same. Personally, I do not see how you can come to that conclusion.
You can't compare Radiohead to Arctic Monkeys, it is 2 totally different types of music. I listen to them both for entirely different reasons. Radiohead for when I need to feel inspired or for when I need to relax, and Arctic Monkeys in car journeys or when I'm getting ready to go out. Stop the comparisons now, they are entirely different. |

the way i see the radiohead collection....
HTTT > OK computer >> The Bends > Amnesiac >>> Kid A >>>> Pablo Honey. im not keen on pablo honey because basically, there's nothing to it that distincts it from any other british guitar album released in 1992. With exception to Creep. Kid A is in parts brilliant. National Anthem, In Limbo, Idioteque and Everything in its right place are some of the bands finest songs. yet at times the album just loses me. Amnesiac is when they get the progression bang on in my opinion. its only 4th because the other 3 are just that bit better for me, but yes, poignant and subtle - yet so powerful. The Bends i like because its radiohead going mainstream and i feel they did it better then any other band around at the time. they made the britpop squirts look silly with this. plus it has street spirit - my all time favourite radiohead song. OK computer is a breath-taking album. an emotional rollercoaster. i get lost in it everytime i play it. HTTT is my favourite purely because i absolutely love every single song - and thats very rare. |
