i put Kid A and Amnesiac on the same level as the Use Your Illusion albums by GnR, only Radiohead got lucky and didn't implode following the release of their hubris. basically they're both two albums that really REALLY should have only been one. strip the filler from both and put all the good stuff on one disc and you would have had a GREAT album from start to finish, no skipping, and tons of material for b-sides/rarities/collectibles for the hardcore fans.

and the whole angle that Kid A was a great step forward for both the band and listeners reflects rather poorly on the listener.
let me get this straight. this is because you have much better opinions than others right?

i do agree about how amnesiac/kid a should have been combined though. looking through them i would remove:

pulk/pull revolving doors
one of the morning bells i forget which i prefer.
hunting bears
treefingers
motion picture soundtrack

the rest are arguable but those are shitty.

"Motion Picture Soundtrack" is the greatest album ending or ever anything.

not pull/pulk, that song is really good!

I would remove:

Treefingers
Hunting Bears
Morning Bell (Amnesiac)
Everything In Its Right Place
Like Spinning Plates (idk i just don't like this song)

Whaaaat!??!

I wouldn't combine Kid A and Amnesiac. Both albums have really different tones when you think about it. I would however change lots of the tracks on Amnesiac. I think The Amazing Sounds of Orgy would make such a better opener.

you know how billboard named nickelback the top band of the 2000's decade? (which i will forever resent them for..) I think the award should have gone to radiohead. starting off this decade with kid A and following it with such extensive touring, well-made albums, and subtle social commentary gives them a spot in this generation's music that i dont think can really be filled by anybody else.

no, it's because i'm old enough to have already been listening to and picking through all the same groups that influenced Kid A before it came out and saw it for the attempt that it really was. the only really impressive thing about the album, is that it was a major mainstream release. but even at that point the mainstream was so horny to prove itself to be eclectic that it messed its pants at the idea of being able to support something as 'challenging' as Kid A for the mass of hipster plebs clamoring for something 'new'.

The fact that some people like Kid A in order to seem eclectic isn't really a just argument for why it's not a good album. Radiohead have said before that it was just them showing their influences. The fact that people and corporations are able to misinterpret that isn't really their fault. Kid A is indeed impressive, based on its ability to meld so many different ideas into one cohesive, claustrophobic and dark statement. In that, I don't see any point in this 'Kid A/Amnesiac' mix-up party. I really wouldn't change it in any way.

I agree with mr dave- combine the best stuff from both albums and you'll have an album that is one of Radiohead's best, if not THE best.

That said, I think it was necessary for Radiohead to go through that 'experimental' stage, for them to progress and release music like Twisted Words and Harry Patch
Yeah, I didn't love HTTT that much. There wee some good songs. I like There There a lot, but i don't know, it never really caught on.

Miley Cyrus was apparently stood up by Radiohead. Reportedly, she barked ''I'm so angry. I'm going to RUIN them''.
