i guess it hasn't been confirmed what the sound will exactly be like, but I got this from At Ease...

Guitarist Ed O’Brien was a guest on Adam Buxton’s show on BBC 6 Music today, saying he thinks the new Radiohead record ‘is the best record we’ve ever made’. Ed: “We’re in the heart of the record. It’s genuinely exciting. It’s very different from what we did last time. It’s really nice to be doing this.

so I guess we shouldn't expect the new album to sound like In Rainbows

Yeah, i read the same article... be expecting a different sound to In Rainbows, but hey if they're claiming it to be the best thing they've ever made, then it's bound to be GOOD!!!

One can only hope for another decade-beginning crowning work from them, but that's just a hope. In other news, currently listening to OKC for the first time in a bit, kind of enjoying it a lot more than I usually do. Particularly "Lucky", which I've always really liked, but today is even better.

Does Lucky remind anyone else of Floyd?

If they put out a whole record of Twisted Words-esque tracks, it will be far and away the best thing they've ever done. And that's all I have to say about that. In hindsight, Twisted Words is the best thing they've put out since Kid A.

i dunno about that. i'd take a lot of tracks on Amnesiac or In Rainbows over it. However, in the context of an album kinda Twisted Word seemed it could probably be better.

and I am guessing that the album will have a Twisted Words/Lotus Flower kinda feel. i'm all for it.

Anything they create I generally like so, unless the band purposely tries to make the entire album sound bad, I'll probably like it. Then again there's Kid A...
