How could you possibly dislike In Rainbows?

In Rainbows has to be one of the most accessible, and, actually quite soft and unabrasive things they've done since The Bends... I am not suprised it got so many votes, it is quite easy to love...

I, a complete non-liker of Radiohead, actually find In Rainbows to be a nice departure from their pretentious garbage to come out since The Bends. I would actually give it a 8 out of 10 in quality. Then again I was one of those original fans who like Pablo Honey and The Bends and not a tag-along hipster lemming who like the psuedo-avant-garde garbage they put out in the late 90s and early 00s. You will find lots of people who like their early stuff and then fell off. They are called "people who like stuff because it is listenable and not because some publication said it was good."

It seems like it's pretty official that this song is in 5/4, but I'm counting it in common time (4/4). At 0:42 (MP3), when the chorus starts, it seems the guitar is in common time. That doesn't necessarily mean the rest of the music is, because this is Radiohead we're talking about. Still, I'm not a music major, so can someone tell me where this 5/4 beat is? The opening bass "thumps" don't really seem to give a 5/4 beat either.
I actually think its hard to count it in anything but 5/4. It's a quick tempo. Even the guitar part only seems to fit in 5/4 since each chord lasts for 5 beats. If you want me to make a video to count it out, I can do that; it is a little hard to explain through text, but I would love to help explain if I could.

I don't mean to be abrasive, but I think this is a little ****ing ridiculous. I wasn't musically inclined when any of the albums came out so whatever marketing was done had no effect on my choice to like those albums. Kid A is one of my favorite records ever created; I think it's brilliant. Simply because you like their more guitar-driven rock material more doesn't mean their other material isn't good; it's a matter of opinion. I find Kid A to be a much more enjoyable listen than Pablo Honey or The Bends. I have a friend whos favorite album is Hail to the Thief. It's all completely subjective.

+1.
Amnesiac is actually as strong as Kid A and better than The Bends,I feel very alone in thinking that sometimes.

You're not alone, The Bends is my least favourite album ahead of Pablo Honey. I like the albums, don't get me wrong, I just much prefer their later work (specifically Kid A --> HTTT). Although I think the person posting the post which you are responding to has a right to his opinion, I can't help but think that he/she wants someone to bite with such a statement. It's not the opinion which is put across, more the wording and composition of their argument which reeks of provocation.

I do apologize if I came off provocative, that wasn't my intention. To be honest, I think I was just upset and replied in that frame of mind. I have no qualms with someone having a favorite album no matter what the album, I just don't like when someone generalizes an entire fan base because they don't like the music.

I want to say that every Radiohead album has been the best but I grew up on KID A but Pablo Honey was what made me first fall in love with RH
