They have a new song BTW.

It's posted on their website.

As posted above, new song dedicated to WWI veteran Harry Patch, based on a speech made by the man himself regarding his opinions on the war and future of war. I believe the strings are composed by Jonny.

Can be streamed from the BBC here.

I think this may be the only recording I don't have, mainly due to never being able to find a decent copy online.

Can't believe so few people have voted HTTT, although my favourite album changes daily. Usually as soon as I have listened to any of their albums, I think, "No, this one is definitely their best". And the process continues indefinitely.

I have made slight process in my ranking of albums during my years as a fan, and it goes as follows:

=1 OK Computer
=1 HTTT
=1 Kid A
=1 Amnesiac

5) In Rainbows
6) The Bends
7) Pablo Honey

At the moment the top four I cannot unravel, I haven't had the balls or audacity to try, although I'm tempted to let OKC go from the pack and rank it first, although listening to one of the others always holds me back. I like In Rainbows although it's still relatively new, it may move up in the future.

Yeah, noone asked for all that but hey.

Anyway great new song with gorgeous strings. Reminds me of a cousin of Motion Picture Soundtrack. But I feel kinda bad for not paying for it, then again the money doesnt go to the band. So fuck it.

Checked out the new song earlier, not feeling it. Just one listen though, but it was rather boring and insignificant.

According to the new song and this post from their website:

Quote:

This week I'm into first goes....and:

Bartok Violin Concerto No,1
Brahms 1st Symphony
Penderecki 1st Symphony
John Cage First Inerlude for Prepared Piano
Shostakovitch Piano Trio No. 1 in C Minor
Bartok First String Quartet
Debussy First (and last) string quartet (G Minor)
Ravel (ditto) in F

..are all ace
The next album should have a pretty big classical influence. Cool.

I was actually listening to "Hail to the Theif" today at work and I think that as far as Radiohead albums are concerned, it was the most palatable for a wide audience. It has the right blend of catchiness and outright expression. "There there" is a cool song to trance out to.

New Radiohead song:
Radiohead Perform New Song in Dublin, Cover Portishead in Video : Rolling Stone : Rock and Roll Daily

I'm hoping that there will be a full band version of that song Sound like it could be great

Edit: Just heard Harry Patch after 5minutes of stop, play every 30 seconds, "The music plays for 30 seconds, please press play again to continue playback" and the song really doesn't sound like radiohead at all... Freaks me out

scottsy 08-06-2009 09:50 PM

Please elaborate! Details! How is it un - radiohead - ish? Does it sound like anything else.... something completely different? I am more than just a bit curious, can ya tell?
