Put OK Computer on shuffle and listen to Lucky or Exit Music.

It's too late! I already like those individually....lol.... my brain won't agree wit the notion they aren't good, that memory is hard wired and burned in!

I'm addicted to Exit Music, it's like the ultimate depression song. Or grief song. I'm listening to it now, it's making me sad.

Lots of people don't like HTTT because its long. This means that you're tuning out some songs, and not becoming familiar with a lot of them. Because of this, the album becomes sort of like a stranger. Its a hard album to listen to, I still haven't gotten my head totally around it. I'll need to give it a good listen during a long, silent drive before I start comprehending it properly.

I love HTTT and think it's their most underrated album by far.
Only songs I really don't like are the aforementioned Where I End and You Begin and Drunken Punchout at a Wedding. Though those songs have some groovy basslines, I like that they returned to a more organic rock sound and that Colin Greenwood was given more to do on that album, he's a solid bass player but boy do they keep him low in the mix. His basslines are there, but you really have to pay close attention. When you hear them, you'll realise just how perfect they are. Optimistic and Dollars and Cents for example. |
