I remember when Kid A came out , there was a huge sh*tstorm about their change of direction. I think they must have lost a good deal of their fanbase over that album , yet they stuck with it. You gotta give em credit for that.

Some Radiohead fans were definitely disappointed at first - Most of whom were either in love with the sound of "The Bends", or infatuated by the buzz of "OK Computer". I happen to think that "Kid A", and "The Bends" are their two greatest albums, but I may be in the minority in putting those two albums side-by-side.

Even if you happen to believe that they are "overrated", that opinion can't take away from the influence that they have on music today. Nor does it diminish the sheer brilliance they display in their musicianship, songwriting, and performances for virtually every album that they've ever made.

true, they probably did lose a big chunk out of their fanbase, but they still remained popular despite it, and a lot of people loved that album, so they did do something right.

Default Is it just me or do Radiohead suck?

After OK Computer was rated number 1 album of all time in Q magazine I decided to buy it. Now that I have listened to it, I have come to the conclusion that it is the worst album of all time. I can't see any redeeming features about it at all. I've heard that you have to give the album time, and that it grows on you eventually. The only problem is I don't want to waste time on it when I could be listening to the Arctic Monkey's album. It's sad because I really wanted to like this...

you are not alone, I didn't get what the fuss is about either. I'm sorry but I also feel the same about The Arctic Monkey's.

This does not make either band suck

Perhaps just my taste in music sucks

either way I'm happy

I think it's just a case of people's opinions. I think with Radiohead it's a case of you either love them or you hate them (like marmite) and with Arctic Monkey's I think a lot of people are put off by the amount of hype that surrounds them now. They have gone from being a cool, small band to a blown up megaband. Through no fault of their own, of course, it's just that the media seems to latch onto a band every now and again and won't let them go.

how old are ya? If you weren't there when they got big I can understand why you feel the way you do... I only like their first 3 albums myself...

and you should be shot for mentioning arctic monkeys and radiohead in the same sentence!!

I was there when they got big, I just don't appreciate them. And I only mentioned them in the same sentence as the Arctic Monkeys because MURDER did.
