I'm hoping it'll sound more electronic, like 15 Step. Some electronic experimentation would sound great.
And does anyone really care how ugly Thom is? Im more concerned with how much Ed looks like Dr. House.

As for the album, I'd love an ambient kinda deal in the vein of Pyramid Song and How To Disappear Completely. |

God I hope not
The last thing Radiohead need to do is put out some dull post rock knock off. It'll sound exactly the same as the last one & the one before it. Radiohead are a spent force these days.

I dont think they'll ever be able to write something like Pyramid Song ever again to be honest.

I disagree. While their latest outputs haven't matched up against Kid A/OK Computer, they were quality albums. I'd still bet that whenever the new one comes out it'll be a top 5 album of its respective year. I'd love to see what Radiohead can do with lengthy instrumental tracks. Saying In Rainbows sounded like HTTT is wrong. HTTT was full of protest and spunk, where as In Rainbows was a melodic masterpiece. Say what you want about the albums themselves, but they weren't sonically comparable. If Radiohead is a "spent force these days," you have unimaginably high standards.

I didn't say they sounded the same. I said the next album will more likely sound like those 2 albums. In other words they'll sound like Radiohead by numbers with no risks or anything new added to their sound.
It's been almost a decade since they did anything different, like I said they're a spent force, they've been left behind. I like to be challeneged by Radiohead albums. That's not happened since Amnesiac. They're boring these days.

I don't think they're lofty expectations. People have been kissing their asses for being able to do just that for about 12 years now.

I fail to see how Hail to the Theif and In Rainbows are a let down in terms of songwriting or as fully fleshed albums... as good as anything in the band's career, IMO...If fthey made something of the same quality for the next album I'd be equally happy.
You can't reinvent the wheel every album.

I hardly think wanting them to do something interesting & different is expecting them to re-invent the wheel, especially as I said people have been kissing their asses for years for them being able to do just that.
Yes they might write a few nice songs , I don't dispute that. But on the whole I find them getting more & more safe & boring.
