Got the quote from the Wikipedia page.

And I only look at the lyrics AFTER I like the music. I'm saying if there's anything more to Fitter Happier than just a robotic voice talking about consumerism, then please tell me. Doesn't look hopeful though.

well I won't defend it to the ends of the earth as a pop masterpiece but that's not it's intention is it? It's not a verse-verse-bridge-chorus-verse-etc rock song, but then how many hundreds of thousands of pieces of music aren't!

Having said that it's very atmospheric from what I remember, but in a 'Radiohead songs that suck' poll I don't think you can fairly compare it to the others

I always loved Fitter, Happier, thought it slotted into Ok Computer just nicely... it fills out the bleak, hopeless theme running through much of the songs, and it aptly describes the darker side of the consumerist world it was born into...

I am also a sucker for the description "a pig, in a cage, on antibiotics", just always thought thast sounded cool...

One of those sh!t tracks that, had it appeared on anyone else's album, everyone would hate it.

I dunno, I wasn't into Radiohead AT ALL when I first heard Ok Computer but Fitter, Happier actually stood out for me as a really cool track to segue between different songs, not an album highlight for sure, but a cool way to go from one song of one style to another song that sounded different.

Fitter Happier > Electioneering. Fitter Happier sets a mood/tone in the album. It does its job very well. No one is claiming it to be a "song" that you would listen to on it's own or a song that they would play live. It does however work very well in the context of the full album, establishing that feeling of sheer chaos and terror.

Lies, all lies. Electioneering is a great track.

Also The Bends is NOT perfect, there is far too much filler. I find it hard to call any album by any band perfect though. Even a Kid A fanboy like myself can find faults in it *cough*Optimistic*cough.

Meh. It's not bad, but to me it's the track I'm most likely to skip over when listening to OKC.
