I'd certainly say Emo is just as image based as gangster rap. Emo culture has been heavily stereotyped, but sad thing is that from what I know, most of the crap that is said about emo kids ring true.

On a similar but completely irrelevant note, I'd like to ask Ethan this, is there any truth to that stereotype that emo kids only play old NES games?

Scene kids yes, emo kids don't really exist because fans of emo music tend to scoff at being called emo since it's a genre not a person.

I might not make any friends by saying this on a SERIOUS BUSINESS music forum, but the Aquabats have full costume. Even guys who aren't in the band get full costumes. And they're awesome.
