The Magnetic Fields-Why I Cry
This is nice and simple in composition and lyrics but it does it. Ben is obviously the better vocalist but I rather listen to whats him name it's much cuter that way. I'll probably give the album this one is off a go. I like immature stuff.

Sleater Kinney-Entertain
The vocals were grating at first but they grew. Surprisingly fun.

If you liked that song I think you'd definitely dig their stuff like Holiday and Get Lost, later albums maybe not so much since its more sleekly done and Stephin isn't hiding behind the music anymore. Which is kind of cool but kind of lame at the same time because when he was there was this really nice shy quality to the music.

97. Elliott Smith "Happiness"

My friend Kenny once called this one of the saddest songs he'd ever heard and at first it's kind of hard to understand this, particularly the studio version. It's an upbeat song with an almost bouncy drumbeat but underneath it is one of Elliott's finest displays of lyricism in his typical cryptic manner. "What I used to be will pass away and then you'll see / That all I want now is happiness for you and me." beautifuls.

Just curious, what do you think is the best song on the debut, if not This Charming Man. Reel Around The Fountain?

I don't know it's kind of hard for me because I randomally get hardcore into songs on that album and while I think the Queen is Dead is their best album The Smiths is my favorite. I went through a phase where I was really into Reel Around the Fountains the (Oh but take me to the haven of your bed part is still one of favorite moments in a song ever) but I think right now my favorite song is The Hand that Rocks the Cradle just before that it was Hand in Glove. I think Suffer Little Children is my most consistent favorite from it.

PRetty Girls Make Graves used to be my favorite (My favorite Smiths song too, but I didn't even like the band back then) , but now it's This Charming Man, with The Hand That Rocks tied with Reel Around The Fountain for second.

96. Stars featuring Emily Haines "Ageless Beauty"

God bless you Broken Social Scene not only did you result in the offshoot of tons of great bands you resulted into them all being connected into eachother so you get cool things like Emily Haines singing on a Stars track. Anyway, Ageless beauty, possibly one of the most beautiful concepts of love ever? Yes, now listen to the song.

Its good to see Suffer Little Children get some recognition, i think most people are put off by the subject matter but its such a great end to the album.

95. Morrissey "Everyday is Like Sunday"

This song really didn't connect with me until I really paid attention to the lyrics seeing as it seems like it was in many ways written about my boring, rainy coastal town. I don't have much to say on this mostly because I'm headed out the door but check it! This song showed Morrissey's solo career was very much not the Smiths, which is a good thing. Personally I think he's done just fine without Marr.
