Summer tunes

Now that the weather has started to get nice I find myself wanting some new music to go along with all this sunshine. What are some of YOUR favorites "summer" artists or songs?

Comus 03-27-2008 11:05 PM

Where the **** is the weather nice? It was snowing here this week

sleepy jack 03-27-2008 11:05 PM

**** OFF SATCHMO
It's been snowing.

SATCHMO 03-27-2008 11:09 PM

Nothin' fallin' from the sky here in Virginia except glorious 70 degree rays of sunshine, but who knows what tomorrow is gonna' bring? Anyway, back to the question at hand.....

happy music,...just,...really singable,..happy,...ride around with the windows down,...kinda music,....

chartsengrafs 03-27-2008 11:23 PM

So this thread was born out of the frustration I had earlier today when I was out-n-about with the ipod and I really felt like I needed to listen to something that just personified the beautiful day i was having and nothing seemed to fit until..... Memory of Elizabeth Reed. Perfect.

Lizzie 03-27-2008 11:53 PM

I don't particularly like the Summer,
But usually thats when I listen to bands like The Smiths a lot
And I really have no clue why
I don't really have 'summer artists'

And anyways, it was snowing all morning and afternoon today:\
Not quite yet summer over here, or anything near it

Yeah, I get over the novelty of summer rather quickly too. Think of it as "beautiful day" music

The West Coast of Canada....Summer wont happen for a while I hope,
And I'm not complaining

And Daniel Johnston is defiantly my favorite artist
For 'beautiful day' music

That's a beautiful song. Did you know it's named for a little girl that ****ie Betts just randomly met in a supermarket and decided to write a song about? anyway, just trying to be relevant.

Seriously!?!? Savannah is such a cool name, and one of my favorite cities! I also have had some less than savory relationships with some less than savory Melissas.

Yeah, True Love Will Find You in the End is one of his best songs, or Walking the Cow and Grievances are my other two favorites

And yeah, I just started it yesterday!
No comments on it yet though...

So I'm assuming that you and Ethan are talking about the same guy (see his post above yours). How freaky is that !?!

Jerry Mungo - In The Summertime

It's almost snowing here, but I guess one of the best things to hear on the beach is Cesaria Evora. I'm not sure if I ever heard music that better encapsulate the feeling of being on a beach in the midst of a lazy Mediterranean summer afternoon looking out at the shimmering sea...:\

As far as sunny spring day music, try Fleet foxes - Drops in the river. It gives me goosebumps, especially if it's sunny and you're feeling full of life...:)
