All the bands you mentioned suck horrendously. pot 1990's music that shines is generally black metal such as Enslaved, Windir, Drukdh etc.

The point being your taste consists of nothing but generic modern rock bands...With the exception of 3.

Radiohead, Granddaddy, The Flaming Lips, Band of Horses, Gorillaz and My Morning Jacket are all perfectly respectable bands and far from "generic modern rock". In fact I wouldn't call any of those bands generic modern rock, not even Coldplay since they're not really very rock. New Weezer probably but a give away to that not being modern rock is Weezer's OLD stuff which you know...means it can't be modern. You listen to the Counting Crows, stop trying to be a music elitist.

Also the point was more along the lines of him not knowing much about music pre-90s and that Comus doesn't like his taste. So you don't really get the point at all, so yeah once again stop trying to be a music elitist when you can't even grasp a pretty basic point.

I said with the exception of 3. I just don' think Band Of Horses and My Morning Jacket are very good or original.

I'm not even going to get a debate into how good or unique either of those bands are because all you're going to do is go "LOLS WIKIPEDIA TIME!" I'm just going to point out that none of them fit the "generic modern rock" mold so your point was pretty invalid and you didn't even understand Comus's point either.

Admittedly I haven't heard much My Morning Jacket, but saying Band Of Horses isn't modern rock is ridiculous.

and the main point is that i couldn't possibly care less what you think of my musical tastes, unless they're similar. mr. comus over there and i obviously have fundamentally different tastes in music. i don't understand why he'd even bother with me.
