Not so good songs on Great albums
Name a few songs from some albums you like that are just sub-par.
For me it's Get into Yours from Mudhoney's self titled album. |
I share the unpopular opinion that Money all but ruins Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
|
Viginti Tres, and every other pointless effortless devoid-of-any-measure-of-skill ambient track on Tool's albums.
|
B.I.B.L.E on Liquid Swords. That song makes me wince.

lost in a supermarket on London's Calling

I dont like it all that much, but I still think its a good song. But yea, absolutely amazing album. |
The dub version of Higher Than the Sun near the end of Screamadelica tends to get skipped a lot.
And that boring blues dirge that is You Gotta Move on the Stones Sticky Fingers album just irritates me. And speaking of the Stones , Country Honk ruins an otherwise damn near perfect album in Let It Bleed. |

I can listen to the whole of London Calling until it gets up to Revolution Rock.
|

But I can't even listen to the second half, especially from Lovers Rock and on |
Lovers Rock is where things go downhill. Revolution Rock is when it gets turned off.
I always thought Lost In The Supermarket was written by Mick Jones. It wasn't , It was written by Joe Strummer about Mick Jones. |

Uh... "Lover's Rock" on London Calling is pretty crappy. |
Clementine on Elliott Smith's self titled album, that is the only song I don't like on the album.
|
I love Clementine O_o
|
I think its easily in the top 5 off that album.

Pree-Sisters Swallowing a Donkey's Eye on On Avery Island.
A tad unnecessary. |
Where the Streets Have No Name
I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For With or Without You Bullet the Blue Sky Running to Stand Still Red Hill Mining Town In God's Country Trip Through Your Wires One Tree Hill Exit Mothers of the Disappeared If it wasn't for those songs The Joshua Tree would be fantastic |
^And I liked a couple of those.... hehe.
Well my views of great albums and other people's certainly won't ever mesh, but the one that I always think of first is "24 Hours" by The Sounds. Ugh. I can go through Dying To Say This To You but I always skip that track. |
'The Crunge', makes me cringe... Thank God it's the last song on that side, so I can lift the needle early.

Anyway, I never liked When I'm 64 from Sgt. Peppers for some reason. |
Dr Robert/Yellow Submarine on Revolver. The White Album. Lol.

Money is part of what made them famous.

The song. I think it really pushed them over to super stardom.
|
It turned them into a boring stadium rock band (with one album being the exception). Floyd are my favourite band but I know they have their faults.
|
Agreed, but I was talking about success.
|
Money did not neccessarily make Floyd. DSOTM did put them into a different stratosphere but I don't think it was one particular song per se.
|
Agreed, but I think without Money's success DSOTM wouldn't have been near as successful.

I never said it was good...

I cant hate on it too much considering that it was the song back in the day that single handedly got me into The Fall of Troy. But after hearing everything else, it just doesnt match up for me anymore.

Modest Mouse's "Horn Intro" and "Interlude (Milo)" on Good News for People Who Love Bad News.
|
Compared to some of those songs on that album those 10 seconds of a break are a joy.

It's okay in parts but for the most part its sound the of a once great rock band mellowing out but not in the good way.
