Take one of mine for example-SAXON. They play standard classic two guitar heavy metal. Their lyrics are the usual British metal clinches-battles, warriors, girls, rocking the night etc. They have no hugely redeeming features. The vocalist is distinctive but not the world's best. Their line up has constantly changed and the musicians are merely adequate. Yet I really like them because I associate them with a certain time in my life. So yes I am embarrassed to like them but i still do.
