Well i won’t say that captain beefheart is a “guilty pleasure” but i’m 100% sure that i will be the only one in my family who enjoy listening to it. I wouldn’t mind being strapped to a chair and being forced to listen to Trout Mask Replica 2 times lol(it’s my favorite album by the way, and frownland is my favorite song XD). There’s just something about The residents that makes me calm and happy. |

I remember when I first listened to that album I couldn't stop histerically laughing for the entirety of the first two or three tracks. That's how absurd it seemed to me. But even though I've been literally suffocating from laughter, I couldn't stop myself from wanting to hear more. That's how good it seemed.

It's their fault they were raised in a stale and catered music environment without the internet and don't have the drive to listen to 3+ new to them experimental albums per day

I mean my parents have a great music taste too.
They love oldies, rock, 80’s and 90’s music which i love too. They might not love experimental/avant-garde music, but that’s ok. At least i love all kinds of music, so they don’t have to listen to the music i love. Maybe i should work on not being so embarrassed or feeling guilty for listening to the music i love. Even though it’s hard. |
