Yeah, I kind of like the Residents too.
Ha ha oh really?? XD

Well i won’t say that captain beefheart is a “guilty pleasure” but i’m 100% sure that i will be the only one in my family who enjoy listening to it. I wouldn’t mind being strapped to a chair and being forced to listen to Trout Mask Replica 2 times lol(it’s my favorite album by the way, and frownland is my favorite song XD).

There’s just something about The residents that makes me calm and happy.

You shouldn't feel guilty about having better taste than your family members, that's on them.

I remember when I first listened to that album I couldn't stop histerically laughing for the entirety of the first two or three tracks. That's how absurd it seemed to me. But even though I've been literally suffocating from laughter, I couldn't stop myself from wanting to hear more. That's how good it seemed.

It's their fault they were raised in a stale and catered music environment without the internet and don't have the drive to listen to 3+ new to them experimental albums per day

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

I mean my parents have a great music taste too.
They love oldies, rock, 80’s and 90’s music which i love too.
They might not love experimental/avant-garde music, but that’s ok. At least i love all kinds of music, so they don’t have to listen to the music i love. Maybe i should work on not being so embarrassed or feeling guilty for listening to the music i love. Even though it’s hard.
