Many of the rap albums considered to be among the greatest ever made have nothing to do with "being gangsta"
Just some classic ignorance from ya boi B Francis

I'm only a prick in the face of ignorance that clearly doesn't care enough to do basic research and learn what people actually appreciate in hip hop

Nah you just a prick.
You were right to some extent but just like me you're just representing one side of the argument. like i said, idk much about rap but the most famous rappers i know like tupac and biggie adopted that kind of gangsta mentality. idk any comedic rappers like the ones i mentioned that have achieved that kinda status. Also, i didn't quite explain it but my perspective came from a local stand point, that is to say i was pointing out the preconceived notions my local rapper friends tend to have which is that only gangsta rap is respected and comedic rappers are viewed as goofy. that's the mentality of my surroundings and where my limitations come from and maybe to you it is ignorant my perspective isn't broader than that but i can only comment about the world i know. At the end I was just sharing my opinion not claiming an absolute fact. when i read what you said i agreed with it to an extent cause you were representing the other side of the argument but you had to go and call me ignorant.

Literally thirty minutes on google and you'd be very educated on the basic history and movements in hip hop
"Your world" isn't an excuse

Still, you can't overlook the fact that alot of ppl do tend to respect gangsta rappers more so than comedic rappers. you can't tell me that whole gangsta image hasn't been an integral part of rap's history. ever since NWA came out being "gangsta" kinda became the prototype of what a rapper should be like. now im not saying every rapper adopted that attitude but i am saying the vast majority did and adopting that image sorta became a tradition.
