Only in Dreams, Weezer. There are 2 versions, both very similiar but 1 is slightly different instrumentally. I'm not sure how to specify your search for one or the other but I know that if you search youtube and add "cowboy bebop amv" to the query you'll get the best version.

I said terrible example of his work because it represents a very small portion of his career and it isn't even the best of off his self-titled. The Biggest Lie, St. Ides Heaven, etc all better.

That's relevant how? It's still not as good as St Ides. Heaven, Alphabet Town or the Biggest Lie. Just because a million people heard it in the Royal Tenenbaums doesn't make it one of his best songs.
