The Rutles!
 

Who here has heard of Monty Python's "The Rutles"? For those who haven't, they're just the greatest Beatles parody of all time! Various mockumentaries were done on them, and much of it is super comedy.

Their history follows closely that of The Beatles, to the absurdest of degrees. They have albums entitled things like Revolter, Sgt. Rutter's Only Darts Club Band, Shabby Road, and my personal favourite - the best of them all: Tragical History Tour.

In 1966, the band frontman Ron Nasty caused a huge uproar after purportedly saying that the Rutles were "bigger than God". Though it soon emerged that it was a heinous misquote, and what he had really said was simply that the Rutles were bigger than Rod - as in, Rod Stewart - which was true, since he hadn't yet become famous at the time.

Anyway, they have loads of songs and here is one of the very best:

I should probably check it out again, as I recall it being somewhere along the lines of funny as hell.

One of the finest parodies of all time.
