Finally, some fucking insight into Dark Side Of The Moon. Much appreciated, since this is what the thread is about all I've had is questions as to why I dislike rather than why others like it. However I didn't enjoy Piper At The Gates Of Dawn much either, maybe it's just one of them things. But I sometimes get the impression to not like this band it's a massive deal, but oh well. IMO Pink Floyd are shit. Feels good to get that off my chest.

Really? You can't find anything enjoyable about Pink Floyd at all?

Let me ask you...do you like any progressive rock at all? Because that could really explain it. I'm not as huge a prog head as boo boo or anteater, but I had a big phase where I didn't think a song was a valid piece of music unless it was over 8 minutes long.

Can't really stand Prog Rock to be honest, but I thought there would be at least one exception..

And a band like Pink Floyd could've been that exception, because they're one of the best/famous prog rock bands there is but I just don't find them and the genre enjoyable at all. Can't stand Genesis, don't like King Crimson and I'm not 'avin Tool either..

So yeah, maybe it's just prog rock I really don't enjoy. But I don't like admitting I can't stand an entire genre (unless it's Hip-Hop.) I wanted to find some exceptions

This is one of my favorite songs ever.

TheCunningStunt, sometimes I don't understand your forcing yourself to like things. I admire your dedication and open mind, but sometimes you just don't like it or aren't ready. Nothing wrong with moving on to other things and coming back later.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I think it's a genre that has always alluded me and I keep trying to come back to it and see something in it I previously missed, but like you say - maybe it's just one of them things..

Maybe you could give Krautrock as try, seeing as it'd basically prog rock only more rhythm based and has less of prog rock's annoying cliches.

Give Neu 75 a listen to start you off and see what you think.
