I feel The Stooges didn't understand their limitations, or rather they just didn't give a sh*t, and they weren't even trying to experiment or diversify their sound or anything. Yeah the Stooges didn't give a ****. It was scuzzy, sloppy and amateur, but it still kicks grass and pulls pussy out of thin air.
The Residents never imposed limits, the word was meaningless to them. They pretty much made up their own rules. The Stooges were too inspired to do that.
Respect a band on their output regardless of what you "feel" are successes and failures . . . not on their capabilities based on some half-****ed set of standards.
